Step 1 — Record
Audacity (free, all platforms) — Press Record, speak into your mic, save as WAV for the highest quality source. GarageBand (free, Mac/iPhone) — simpler interface, good for solo podcasters. Riverside.fm (free tier) — records remote interviews in separate tracks, each person's audio captured locally so connection quality doesn't affect the recording.
Step 2 — Remove silence and mistakes
Step 3 — Merge segments
If you recorded intro music, interview, and outro separately, use sound-goods MP3 Merger: drop all segments → drag to set order (intro → interview → outro) → set 0.5s gap between intro and interview → click Merge & Export MP3.
